I used to have the same problem -- except I didn't actually like playing cards in the first place, so if someone suggested a game of cards I'd do a few quick tricks, then ask if they were sure they wanted me to play. Always turned out they didn't.
I read your Noir series, and it was brilliant. I especially appreciated the tribute to Dai Vernon (it even looked like him).
